Fantasia Finishes High School

Congrats are in order! It’s been a long time coming, but Fantasia has finally finished high school. The 25-year-old singer accepted an honorary degree and walked with graduates in a cap in gown at Andrews High School in Greensboro, North Carolina last weekend.

Fantasia’s overcome plenty of hurdles: she dropped out school in 9th grade and then became a teen-mom. In 2005 she shocked audiences when she reveled she was illiterate in her memoir “Life is Not a Fairy Tale.”    The singer’s VH1 reality show Fantasia For Real showed her studying for the GED, which she completed before her big graduation.

Now I’m not sure what kind of degree you get from high school (are youngins getting those instead of diplomas these days or did they just want to make it sound better for ‘Tasia?), but never mind the semantics, good for her for seeing it through and finishing. It’s never too late!
