DALLAS — A worker was injured late Thursday afternoon when he jumped from a railroad bridge under construction in Northwest Dallas.

Dallas Area Rapid Transit spokesman Morgan Lyons said some subcontractors on the Orange Line light rail project were drinking beer after work on the overpass on Storey Lane west of Interstate 35E  when there was an argument.

The workers scattered as Dallas police arrived, and one of the fleeing workers leaped about 30 feet to the ground below.

Lyons said the worker was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital for treatment of two broken legs. The unidentified man also bit off his lower lip and tounge.
